Built by an Olympic Athlete Who Understands the Mental Game

Athlete Mindset was founded by Sondre Guttormsen — a Norwegian pole vaulter who has competed at two Olympic Games, holds the Norwegian indoor record at 6.06m, and won three NCAA championships at Princeton University, where he studied psychology.

After years of working with mental performance professionals to develop his own mental game, Sondre recognized a fundamental problem: the tools that elite athletes use to build mental toughness — visualization, breathwork, structured self-talk — are backed by decades of research, but they remain inaccessible to the vast majority of athletes who would benefit from them.

Mental performance professionals are expensive, concentrated near elite training centers, and unavailable to the millions of high school, college, and recreational athletes who deal with competition anxiety, performance plateaus, and the mental challenges of sport every day. Athlete Mindset was built to close that gap — using AI to deliver personalized, evidence-based mental training to every athlete, at any level, in any sport.

Why Mental Training Matters

Research shows that 90% of elite athletes use mental imagery as part of their training (Vealey & Greenleaf, 2001). Studies demonstrate a 23% improvement in performance when mental practice is added to physical training (Driskell, Copper & Moran, 1994). Mental imagery activates the same brain regions as physical execution (Jeannerod, 1994).

The science is clear. The problem has always been delivery. Athlete Mindset uses AI to generate personalized visualization sessions based on the PETTLEP framework, provides real-time voice coaching adapted to each athlete's sport and goals, and makes structured breathwork and focus training available anytime, anywhere.

Whether you're preparing for your first competition or your fourth Olympics, the mental game is what separates good from great. That's what Athlete Mindset is here to help you build.
